San Ramon, CA

Today, members of the Rotary Club of Danville/Sycamore Valley met at the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) Warehouse in San Ramon along with members of the other 6 clubs in the area.  Our club members included:

Michael Torres, Mary Whipple, Marilyn Wheelwright, Jack Worthington,

Carl McBride, Pat Burgess and Del Chandler.

The 6-club members put Rotary book plates/labels in the cover of over 2,400 dictionaries which will be distributed to the 3rd Graders within the SRVUSD by the Rotary Clubs over the next few weeks. This is a project that we do every year.  It is fun working with the other clubs, and more importantly, hearing the students’ comments during the distribution is what it is all about for the Rotarians.

In the words of Carl, this year “…it was a fun time and went very fast”.  This from the man who was hoofing all the boxes of new dictionaries onto the tables so the rest of us could sit there and just put on the labels.  Once again, Carl did all the “heavy lifting”.  No, literally, he did all the heavy lifting.

A great time was had by all and now we can’t wait to go to the schools and distribute the dictionaries.

Thanks fellow Rotarians!  Another job well done!
